PROSTATE CANCER

Prostate cancer is found in microscopic levels in 50% of men over 70 years old and in almost all of those over 90 years old. The risk of a healthy man getting prostate cancer for life is approximately 16%.

While prostate cancer research is recommended after 50 years of age during normal controls, it is useful for early diagnosis if the family has prostate cancer after 40 years of age.

Prostate cancer can develop without any symptoms. It can cause pain, especially when jumping into the bone.

With the PSA test and clinical use in the 1980s, mortality rates related to the disease decreased significantly.

When there are suspicious findings in the prostate, which is followed up annually with a PSA test and a prostate examination with a finger, 12 quadrant prostate biopsy is performed under local anesthesia with ultrasonography and the diagnosis is made.

When necessary, advanced imaging methods (Whole Abdominal Tomography, Whole Abdominal MR, Bone Scintigraphy) are made and the diagnosis is made and appropriate treatment is planned.

To prevent this insidious disease, the diagnosis of which is simple, the treatment is life-saving and does not cause any complaints, do not delay the examination of the urologist at the age of 50.
