Various eye diseases diagnoses and treatments of all age groups are carried out with devices and specialist physicians in the eye clinic of our hospital.

In the patient examination in the eye clinic, preliminary measurements are made with computerized devices for both adults and children. Then, a detailed doctor examination is carried out.

I Okulaplas

It is the subunit of ophthalmology that treats diseases of the eyelid, around the eyes, eyebrows and tear ducts. Eyelid sagging, eyelid drooping, eyelid turning in or out, treatment and surgery of eyelid tumors and reconstruction of eyelid due to various reasons are within the limits of this unit. Prosthesis for missing eyes is also an application of this subunit.

Orbital Surgery

The room surrounded by bones in which the eye settles is called an orbit. Treatment of diseases occurring in this chamber is among the treatments of this subunit. These include treatment of eye flare due to goiter disease, treatment of tumors, and treatment of surrounding bone fractures.

Refractive Surgery

Treatment of eye disorders such as myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia and eye diseases such as keratoconus is among the responsibilities of this sub-unit. Refractive lens replacement (Clear corneal lens extraction), intraocular lens application, Corneal ring attachment, Corneal crosslinking are some of the methods.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract is the name given to the situation where the eye lens, which is encountered in older ages and sometimes in childhood, prevents vision by blurring. It is the sub unit that deals with surgical treatment of this condition, placement of intraocular lenses, single and distant close-focus lens application, using different lenses depending on the patient's condition.

Medical Retina

It includes non-surgical treatment of diseases of the hereditary or subsequent visual nerve. The laser treatment of bleeding of the visual nerve due to diabetes, laser stitching of ruptures or degenerations that develop in the periphery of the visual nerve, treatment of visual nerve infections, and the treatment and treatment of preterm retinopathy developing in preterm babies and incubators are considered in this context.
Glaucoma (Eye Blood Pressure) Treatment

If a balloon is left on one side for a long time, it loses its air and contracts. In order for our eyes to not shrink like this, nature has created a very very nice mechanism. A saliva-like fluid is made from some glands in our eye, and this liquid flows into the circulatory system by flowing into the veins between the colored part of our eye and the cornea, which is the curved transparent part like watch glass. Thus, our eyes remain like a continuous bulging balloon and never shrink. However, due to some diseases or congenital deficiencies, if the vasculature is impaired and fluid begins to accumulate in the eye, intraocular pressure naturally increases, which in time compresses the entry point of the eye nerve, the weakest part of the eye, and causes blindness. It is usually noticeable too late because it is very insidious and has no symptoms that can be felt by the patient. That is why it is one of the leading diseases that cause blindness all over the world.

Newborn Eye Diseases

Premature Retinopathy:

Especially in babies born prematurely, if the baby has been given oxygen in the incubator, the vessels of the visual nerve, which are not fully developed, become fused at the ends of the visual nerve by fusing with each other. This ball threatens to see by moving towards the center in more advanced situations. It can be treated with cryo or laser.

Newborn Eye Infection:

The microbes on the path where the baby advances during the birth can be transmitted to the baby. These can cause eye infections in the baby. Early diagnosis and treatment is very important. Microorganisms causing this disease can be found and treatment for cause is applied.

Eye pressure:

Congenital eye pressure is less common, but it can be seen in infants and children. The most important symptom is that the eye grows more than normal. Especially if the colored part of the eye looks larger than normal and there is a difference in size between the two eyes, if there is watering, unable to look at the light, a doctor's examination is absolutely necessary.

Congenital Cataract:

Sometimes, some babies may have congenital cataracts. One or both eyes may be opaque, a smoky appearance in the eye, an eye shift may be the beginning of the symptoms. The reasons may be the infection that the mother had during the pregnancy or the drugs used during pregnancy. Sometimes, cataracts can develop in infants for no reason. A doctor's examination is absolutely necessary.
