PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY (PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY)

In the Child Cardiology section; services are provided for infants with a heart disease, congenital or congenital (acquired) heart disease. Unlike adult heart patients, most of the heart diseases seen in childhood are congenital, that is congenital. Babies with congenital Heart Disease are born with some structural disorders in the heart.

Factors that increase the risk of heart diseases in children: can be listed as passage and chromosomal anomalies through genes. For example, in children with Down syndrome, the risk of heart disease can be up to 50%. During pregnancy; It is known that some drugs and alcohol used especially in the first 3 months cause disorders in heart development. Viral diseases experienced during pregnancy also affect heart development negatively. Examples of viral diseases can be listed as follows: Mumps, measles, rubella, colds, etc.

In the pediatric cardiology department; Necessary treatment services are provided with appropriate diagnosis and examination tools for patients with heart disease in the 0-16 age group. Pediatric ECG (electrocardiography) and Pediatric Echocardiography are performed for the diagnosis of heart diseases that can develop in children.
